Update on Rani from SOS Children's Village, June 2017

Dear Friend,

Greetings!

Renowned novelist, George Eliot, once said, "I cherish my childish loves - the memory of that warm little nest where my affections were fledged". We learn to love without judgement and conditions during our childhood. We are closest to our true self when we are children, and that is why the innocence of a child must be handled with utmost care. At SOS, we put in our best efforts for enriching a child's early years all the way to his/her youth.

Sports activity organized for children in the village

When I got a chance to see your sponsored child Rani, I literally had a flashback into my childhood and the memories felt so soothing. I wish to replay those years and live them once again; that's the essence of childhood. Rani is an active and bubbly girl. She is very close to her SOS mother and also to her siblings in the house. She is growing into a pleasant girl who maintains affable relations with all her friends inthe village.

Will continue her education

Rani is currently studying in class VI at school. She is learning to be independent and that's why she travels to school via school bus. For academic support, she is taking additional tutorial classes by a private tutor at the SOS Children's Village. She is good in her studies but teachers tell me, "Rani is quite a capable girl and can achieve a lot. Through guidance and supervision, she can build a bright future."

Sports and other activities

She loves basketball and plays with her friends in the break. Her coaches say that if she works harder, she can be selected for the junior school team. She also likes running and playing outdoor games with her friends in the village. Other than that, she has a remarkable ability to design and create special decorative items.

Children perform a traditional dance

Rani plans to study further, and we will put in our best efforts to make her wishes come true. However, without your support, her wish to study further may not see the light of day. We thank you for the continuous encouragement you have provided us. Please continue to support us and I wish her all the very best!

Summer greetings from Riya

Yours sincerely,
National Sponsorship Co-ordinator
